A man has been put behind bars after breaching a restraining order.
Richard Musgrave, 40, of Ennerdale Road, Maryport, appeared at West Cumbria Magistrates Court yesterday.
The court heard that on Friday, January 4, Musgrave had, without reasonable excuse, breached a restraining order which was imposed at Carlisle Crown Court on January 25 last year, which prevented him contacting a named woman.
The court heard he had been within 500m of either the woman or her home on the day in question.
Musgrave admitted the offence and was given a 16-week jail term.
He also admitted causing criminal damage to a cell at Workington Police Station between Friday, January 4 and Monday, January 7.
Also admitting that offence, Musgrave was ordered to pay £97.50 compensation and £85 costs.
