A student has been recognised with an award by Lamont Pridmore.

Emily Winter, who is a student at St Benedict’s Catholic High School in Whitehaven, was given the Lamont Pridmore Business Studies Student of the Year 2018 Award

She was presented with the award by the firm’s local managing director, Stuart Edger, at a ceremony hosted by the school at the Sixth Form Centre in Red Lonning last month.

Emily was chosen for the award by her business studies teacher Paul Charlton.

He said: “I have selected Emily Winter to be the winner this year. She performed above her target grade and was a model student.

“She always met her deadlines, produced quality work and persevered even when she found some concepts challenging. She was a very polite, hardworking student and a credit to the sixth form.”

Mr Edger said: “It was a real pleasure to meet Emily and hear more about her wonderful work and dedication to business studies.

“Encouraging an interest in the world of business is really important and something that the school does very well.

“I would like to wish her all the best in her future endeavours and hope she continues to take a keen interest in the subject in future.”
