A man who harassed a woman over a four-month period has been banned from having any contact with his victim.

Workington's West Cumbria Magistrates Court heard that Trevor Green, 43, of Mill Hill, Cleator Moor, sent a number of unwanted text messages and phone calls to the woman between July 8 and November 27 this year.

Green admitted the charge when he appeared before magistrates.

He was given restraining orders banning him from contacting his victim and another named person.

Magistrates also ordered him to carry out 160 hours of unpaid work, participate in the Building Better Relationships programme and take part in other rehabilitation.

He must pay £85 costs and an £85 surcharge.
