Strong winds are battering Cumbria this morning.
Motorists are urged to take extra care on the roads.
The Windermere vehicle ferry has cancelled its crossings today as a result of the winds.
It will affect those travelling between Bowness and Far Sawrey.
There are no weather warnings in place but the Met Office warns to expect average wind speeds of up to 36mph, and gusts of up to 56mph in coastal areas.
Its forecast for today adds: "A spell of wet and windy weather will move east across all parts during Tuesday, accompanied by a strong and gusty southerly wind, with coastal gales.
"The rain will gradually clear away from Cumbria by the end of the day."
