A FILM documenting the chronicles of Tony Blair's is set to be shown in Carlisle - and could mark the start of a new political film club.

The Killings of Tony Blair is being screened at the Quaker Meeting House in Fisher Street at 7pm tomorrow.

Crowdfunded through Kickstarter and produced by Labour's George Galloway, the storyline of the 2016 documentary follows the former Prime Minister's alleged destruction of the Labour Party, his involvement in the run up to the Iraq war and his business interests.

It's hoped the film will pave the way for others to follow.

Organiser Robert Rynn, who is among a group of democratic socialists in the city, said: "It's for educational purposes. We are very fair-minded people. It is one aspect of the political spectrum but it is an aspect that doesn't really have a voice. Our group feel driven to do this."

Mr Rynn said depending on the level of interest they may host a film every month or bi-monthly.

The free film will be followed by a discussion.
