A young man has faced a court accused of stealing a car, driving dangerously, colliding with a stationary police car and then culpably and recklessly driving on and endangering a police woman who had hold of the car door handle.
Findlay McKay, 19, of no fixed address, stood in the dock at Dumfries Sheriff Court. He pleaded not guilty to charges including behaving in a threatening or abusive manner at Windermere Road in Annan, acting in an aggressive manner and making sectarian remarks, driving carelessly and colliding with metal railings in Annan Road, Eastriggs; stealing a car at Pretoria Road in Eastriggs; and driving dangerously in Eastriggs and Annan, failing to keep the car under control and colliding with a police vehicle.
He also denied failing to stop when requested by police, and after colliding with the police car driving on and endangering the policewoman.
Trial was set for February.
