Queen and Take That are coming to Carlisle... or so it may seem as two leading tribute acts hit the city.

911 singer Lee Brennan, who comes from Carlisle, is creating a double-header next May with Killer Queen and Take That tribute band Rule The World.

They will perform at The Shepherds, Rosehill, on consecutive nights during the month’s second Bank Holiday weekend.

The shows, labelled Best of British, are organised through Lee’s company Lee Brennan Entertainment.

He says: “Since I moved back to Carlisle last year I wanted to create events. Most of them have sold out. It’s just about trying to create something a little bit different.

“I’ve been doing lots of research on tribute acts. There’s a lot out there. I brought Rule The World to The Halston last year. They sold out and we had some great feedback. A lot of people really want to see them again.

“Before I booked them I did homework on 15 Take That tribute acts. Rule The World were by far the most authentic. They’re very similar-sounding.

“There’s a lot of Queen tributes out there. Killer Queen are one of the biggest and best in the world. They tour America and Europe selling out big places. The front man is amazing. It’s a really good production. I’m lucky to have got them. They’re really sought after. Everybody loves Queen.”

Rule The World play on Saturday May 25 and Killer Queen the following night.

Tickets for both shows go on sale at 10am on Saturday December 8 from www.LeeBrennan.com or from The Shepherds. Tickets are £22 for each show or £39 for both. Lee is confident that both shows, each with a 400 capacity, will sell out.

“It should be a brilliant couple of nights,” he says. “A massive celebratory weekend.”
