A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving following a crash on the A69 at Warwick Bridge.
The two-car crash happened at 4.20pm yesterday near Steele's Bank.
The vehicles involved were a Volkswagen and a Hyundai.
The driver of the Volkswagen, a man in his 40s, was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.
He has since been released under investigation.
The arrested man also suffered some injuries. He was taken to hospital, but later released.
Nobody else was hurt.
The road was closed for about an hour while emergency services attended the scene.
Bus operator Stagecoach had to divert its 685 service from Carlisle to Newcastle, which ran 40 minutes late.
