MOTORISTS have been warned not to leave car engines running to defrost them after one was stolen in Carlisle.

A Nissan Micra was stolen on Ellesmere Way, Carlisle at 8.30am on Tuesday morning.

Officers later found the car at 11am in the area of Loughrigg Terrace, Carlisle.

A Cumbria Police spokeswoman told the News & Star: "We would like to remind the public not to leave your engine running to defrost your car and then go back inside your house or leave it unattended."

Anyone who witnessed or has any information regarding the incident is asked to contact police quoting log 44 of December 4.
