HOUSEHOLDS and businesses in Cumbria aren’t getting good broadband speeds, according to a new study.
The report, from broadbandchoices.co.uk, reveals that most homes in Cumbria aren’t the average national broadband speeds.
The data collected by the firm shows Cumbria as a region has an average download speed of 28Mbps.
England’s total average download speed is 43.6Mbps, according to the latest Ofcom report.
Cumbria sat 31st on a list of broadband speeds by county council area, in the bottom third.
The worst performing areas were Herefordshire, Cornwall and Somerset.
While the best counties for average broadband speeds were Hertfordshire, Nottinghamshire and Surrey.
Better broadband speeds have long been on county business’ wishlist for infrastructure improvements.
