A WEST Cumbrian charity is calling on people to dig out their festive knitwear to support its cause.
Local businesses, shops, clubs and schools are being invited to hold their own Christmas jumper day to raise money for Hospice at Home West Cumbria.
A charity spokesman said: "This year we’ve created a fundraiser pack full of ideas to support your Christmas Jumper Day event with quizzes and a Guess the Christmas Song Grid game. It’s not just businesses who are invited to take part. If people are hosting a Christmas get together this could be a great theme. We will be encouraging people to share pictures of their Christmas Jumpers or festive outfits on social media @HospiceatHomeWC throughout the lead up to Christmas."
Last year Hospice's Christmas jumper campaign raised over £1,000.
Businesses already on board include Iggesund Paperboard, Gibbons Accountants, Day Cummins Ltd, Workington Town Council, Thomas Armstrong and New Balance.
The charity provides palliative and end of life care and support services.
Anyone wanting to hold an event can email info@hhwc.org.uk or call 01900 873173 for more information.
