PRECAUTIONS are being taken as temperatures are set to fall.
Cumbria Gritters is treating priority routes in the east of the county this afternoon.
It said on twitter the forecast was uncertain but road surface temperatures were predicted to fall below zero in some areas with wet conditions.
Areas covered include Penrith, Appleby, Alston Moor, Hartside, Shap and the Kirkstone Pass.
