A FESTIVAL celebrating all things Christmas is coming to one north Cumbria village.

Taking place between November 30 and December 2, a range of activities are planned at St Kentigern's Church.

The church will be open between 2pm and 6pm daily across the three days.

A display of 25 Christmas trees will be among the attractions at the church, with other festivities planned on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Other activities include:

*Friday at 7.30pm – “Christmas Past”- a flower demonstration by national flower arranging demonstrator, Patti Dawson, from Morland. Tickets £7.50, to include mulled wine and a mince pie. The arrangements will be raffled at the end of the event;

*Saturday at 10am - noon - workshop for children to make seasonal decorations;

*Saturday at 7.30pm – “Christmas Trees and Christmas Treats”, which is a light-hearted Christmas performance from Caldbeck Players and friends. Tickets £8, to include mulled wine and a mince pie;

*Sunday 6.30pm - closing service, “Advent Praise”

Various groups, individuals and local organisations will be sponsoring and decorating the trees, including students from Fellview School, who will be creating decorations for the pew ends.

Tickets for the evening events will be available from Christine Pearson on 016974 78114, the village shops in Caldbeck and Hesket Newmarket, and at St Kentigern’s Church during the Festival.

All proceeds from the festival will go to church funds.
