A storytelling evening with a difference will be held at the Lake District Wildlife Park.

Some of the Bassenthwaite attraction's favourite residents will take centre stage as two popular wildlife tales are brought to life on November 30.

Sage the white-faced owl and Tonto the Indian eagle owl will fly around the audience, while animals including tortoises, snakes and even tree flogs may make guest appearances.

All held indoors, the interactive family evening will also feature one-to-one reptile encounters and guinea pig cuddles.

People attending the Rumble in the Jungle event will also get a seasonal meal in the on-site cafe.

Park manager Richard Robinson said: “This special evening is our way of bringing some animal-themed entertainment to the colder winter nights. We think dynamic storytelling is a great way of getting families together and creating a sense of awe and appreciation for the diverse inhabitants of our natural world.

"We want to make the evening as memorable and interactive as possible, so the keepers will be dressing up and taking some leading roles in the stories alongside our animal residents."

Bosses are keen for the park not to be seen as just a summer attraction and have just launched indoor winter owl displays.

The Rumble in the Jungle event takes place from 6pm to 9pm.
