Police responded to reports of an assault in Carlisle - and arrested a man on suspicion of sexual activity with a child.
Officers were called to what they described as a "violent incident" outside the Ibis hotel, on Botchergate, at about 2.55pm yesterday.
A spokesman for Cumbria Police told the News & Star: "Officers attended.
"A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of inciting sexual activity with a child.
"He is currently in police custody."
He added: "There were no injuries suffered by anyone at the scene and no assault offence is being investigated."
