The magistrates' court in Carlisle
A man from Penrith has appeared in court to face three allegations of rape.
Simon Peter Turnbull, of Fairhill Road, Penrith, is charged with raping a girl under the age of 13 between January 1 and July 31.
The 44-year-old did not enter a plea during today's hearing at Carlisle's magistrates' court.
He is next scheduled to appear at Carlisle Crown Court on December 10.
He was remanded in custody.
