A NEW international languages centre will be used by Cumbrian school students for the first time next month.
Keswick School is opening a new centre after the half-term break to its pupils. An official opening will take place in the new year.
The new centre’s opening comes as provisional new figures about school performance have been published by the Department for Education (DfE).
The provisional league tables show that Keswick School is ranked as the county’s top non-selective secondary school in three of the measures published.
They are the Attainment 8 score, the percentage of pupils getting a grade 5 or above in both English and Maths, and the English Baccalaureate average score.
Headteacher Simon Jackson said: “Outstanding student performance is a reflection of hard work, great determination and excellent teaching and pupil support.”
