A 40-YEAR-OLD man from Annan is in a serious but stable condition after an incident in the town on Sunday.
The male is being treated for a number of serious injuries at Dumfries and Galloway Infirmary following the incident at a house in Thomas Street.
Police Scotland said a 45-year-old man from Stranraer was arrested in connection with the matter.
The man is expected to attend Dumfriesshire Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
Any witnesses with information are urged to contact Police Scotland by calling 101.
