A breath test revealed she had 59mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg.
Atkinson was found guilty of the offence after a trial at West Cumbria Magistrates Court in Workington.
She was given a 16-month driving ban.
She was also ordered to pay a £180 fine, £310 costs and a £30 surcharge.
