A woman who stole a loaf of bread and packet of ham – which cost just £3 – has been jailed.
District Judge Gerald Chalk said he had no other option but to hand a custodial sentence to Lynsey Michelle Ogni as she was on a suspended sentence for an earlier offence when she stole the items.
Ogni, 35, of Crosby Street in Maryport, stole the food, which cost just £3, from the town's Spar supermarket on August 13.
Shop workers from the Curzon Street store handed police CCTV of Ogni taking the food and officers later found the packet of ham and the jacket she was wearing in the footage at her home.
Mr Chalk sentenced her to 122 days in prison, where she must serve half of the sentence.
