Vehicle fire closes part of M6 motorway through Cumbria
Part of the M6 through north Cumbria is closed because of a vehicle fire.
Two lanes of the route are currently closed between junction 41, for Wigton, and junction 42 Carlisle south.
Reports say that the disruption in the area is "severe".
The fire was called in at 7.35pm.
Firefighters say the car was "well alight" when they arrived.
They used two hose reel jets to tackle the fire and two crew members wore breathing apparatus.
