RORY Stewart has been moved to the Ministry of Justice in Theresa May's cabinet reshuffle.

The Penrith and the Border MP is now the Minister of State in his new department.

He has been moved from Africa and International Development.

Mr Stewart's new role will see him take on departmental business in the Lords and to support to Secretary of State on constitutional matters. Family justice and mediation women offenders, human rights and civil liberties also come under his new responsibilities as well as defamation freedom of information, data protection and data sharing.

The Minister of State for Justice at the Ministry of Justice is a role previously held by The Rt Hon Lord McNally.
