This month is a busy month here at David Wood Foods as we celebrate our tenth birthday!

We began in 2008 when David Wood, with 20 years’ experience in the food production industry, set out to build a new food production company. Over the years we’ve acquired seven sites around the UK as well as a head office in Leeds.
And as each factory focused on its own speciality, David and the team have worked to restore each individual factory and its production capability to meet the full potential of each site.

We now produce an incredibly varied range of food from all our sites, ranging from premium ready meals, artisan handmade bread, sweet treat bakery goods, food to go and so much more!
Our own label foods are in many of the largest food retailers in the United Kingdom and the whole team, from the chefs to the factory staff and engineers, all passionately involved in producing the food, feel so proud to see our range of products on the shelves and being enjoyed by consumers all around the country!

Our product journey always begins in our test kitchens as our chefs work tirelessly to whip up new flavour combinations and play with different pairings that they are confident consumers will love.From there, we need to work out how the recipes will be produced at scale.Whether it is our ready meals created by our chefs or the handcrafted breads from our site in Dudley, it is important that we maintain the same flavour and quality when we begin full scale production.

You may have noticed that when we approached our tenth year in business, we re branded from David Wood Baking to David Wood Foods. The reasoning for this was that ‘baking’ no longer defined us – we were now creating so much more, such an extensive range of varied foods, that we just knew it was time to take the leap and change our name.
It allowed us to be much more representative of who we are and what we do! It really is a reflection of how we have adapted our business during these exciting times.

Recently, out of 1,000 entries, two of our products developed and created by us, won Grocer Awards Own Label 2018 category.
Such a prestigious award was great recognition for everyone's hard work and gave us all a moment to reflect on just how far we have come in the last ten years. There’s still so much we want to achieve, from innovative products and new flavours to exciting future projects and brand new ventures. So, cheers to the last ten years, as we look forward to many more together!
