THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (SCALEGATE ROAD, CARLISLE) (TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2019
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Galliford Try to curry out adjacent construction works and allow safe access to site ("the Works), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding at speeds in excess of 30 miles per hour along that section of Scalegate Road, Carlisle from its junction with Oaklands Drive, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 250m. No speed limit imposed by this Order will apply to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations. The Order will come into operation on 27 May 2019 and may continue in force for a period of up to eighteen months from that date as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, although it is anticipated that it will only be required for approx 12 months.
