SOUTH LAKELAND DISTRICT COUNCIL (FOOTPATH NO 524017 PARISH OF FIRBANK) PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2017
On the 17 April 2019 South Lakeland District Council confirmed the above order made under Section 257 of the Town & Country Planning Act 1990 and Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.
The effect of the Order, as confirmed, is to divert that section of public footpath no 524017 at Birchfield Farm from grid reference 360968 495675 northeastwards to grid reference 361075 495760: to run from grid reference 360968 495675 eastwards for about 56 metres to a field gate at grid reference 361023 495687 then northeastwards for 90 metres to grid reference 361075 495760. The width of the new path will be 2 metres. A copy of the confirmed Order and map may be inspected free of charge at Kendal Library, Stricklandgate, Kendal and the offices of the Countryside Access Team, The Parkhouse Building, Kingmoor Business Park, Carlisle CA6 4SJ (ref 5.1.420). Copies of the Order may be purchased at a cost of £2 per A4 sheet and £3 per A3 sheet from the undersigned. Alternatively contact

The order comes into force immediately, but if a person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Town & Country Planning Act, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under Section 278 of the Town & Country Planning Act 1990, within 6 weeks from 9 May 2019 as required by paragraph 7 of the Schedule 14 to that Act.
