THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (VICTORIA PLACE, ST AIDAN'S ROAD AND HARTINGTON PLACE, CARLISLE)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2019

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable United Utilities to carry out utility works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to:-

1. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding other than in a westerly direction along that section of Victoria Place, Carlisle from its junction with Lismore Place, extending in an easterly direction to its junction with Warwick Road;



Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding other than in a westerly direction along that section of Victoria Place, Carlisle from its junction with Lismore Place, extending in an easterly direction to its junction with Warwick Road;

2. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding other than in a south easterly direction along that section of St Aidan's Road, Carlisle from its junction with Victoria Place, extending in a southerly direction to its junction with Warwick Road; and



3. Prohibit any vehicle waiting or loading/unloading, at any time, on any day (including disabled blue badge holders) along that section of Hartington Place (west side), from its junction with Chiswick Street, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 140m.



N.B. the restriction detailed in Article 3 above is to allow two-way traffic flow for the purposes of the alternative route.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for east and north west bound vehicles will be signed and available via Warwick Road, Hartington Place and the unrestricted section of Victoria Place.

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.

The Order will come into operation on 25 February 2019 and may continue in force for a period of up to eighteen months from that date as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, although it is anticipated that it will only be required for 3 months.
