On the 26 July 2018 Cumbria County Council confirmed the above order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert that section of public footpath no 536046 at Vicarage fark School from GR 351268 491671 southwestwards and southwards for about 192 metres to GR 351228 491495; to run from GR 351214 491666 south-southeastwards for 8 metres to wall at GR 351218 491659; then 38 metres along pavement to GR 351230 491623 and a further 3metres eastwards to GR 351233 491624 before continuing for 33 metres across the car park to GR 351246 491595 then across the playing field for 86 metres to fence at GR 351282 491516 then 3 metres to join CollingTield Une at GR 351284 491513. The width of the new path will be 1.8 metres between GR 351214 491666 and 351246 491595 and 2 metres between GR 351246 491595 and 351284 491513 as shown on the order map.

The order comes into force immediately, but if a person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 2 August 2018 make an application to the High Court D ROBERTS Executive Director -Corporate, Customer & Community Services
