THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (C1038 WETHERAL SHIELD AND Ul 179 PLAINS ROAD, WETHERAL, NEAR CARLISLE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2022

THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (C1038 WETHERAL SHIELD AND Ul 179 PLAINS ROAD, WETHERAL, NEAR CARLISLE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable United Utilities to carry out utility works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road:

1. C1038 Wetheral Shield, from a point adjacent to the property known as 'Wrayside Cottage', extending in a north westerly direction for approx 100m.



Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the CI038, B6263 Cumwhinton, A6 Low and High Hesket and the C3027 Armathwaite.

Duration: From 2 February 2022 for approx. 3 days (Ref: C756).

2. Ul 179 Plains Road, near Wetheral from a point adjacent to the property known as 'Parklands', extending in a north westerly direction for approx 170m.



Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the Ul 179 Plains Road, A69 Warwick-on-Eden and the B6263 Steeles Bank, Wetheral.

Duration: From 17 February 2022 for approx. 3 days (Ref:C758).

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained. Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:

(i) Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and



(ii) Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and



(iii)Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads and

(iv)Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or email

The Order will come into operation on 2 February 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
