THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (VARIOUS ROADS IN THE ALLERDALE AREA) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO.8) ORDER 2021

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria Highways to carry out highway works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road:

1. B5299 Boltongate to Newlands Farm, from its {unction with the C20I I, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 3.6 kms.



Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the B5299, the A595 and the B5305

(Ref: AL21 -483 - carriageway surfacing - for approx. 2 weeks)

2. U2067 Kiridand Road, Wigton from its junction with the B5302, extending in an overall easterly direction for approx 3 kms.



Alternative Route: via the B5302 and the U2066.

(Ref: AL21 -484 - carriageway surfacing - for approx. 2 weeks)

3. U2015 Torpenhow, from its junction with the A595, extending in a southerly direction for approx 1.4 kms.



Alternative Route: via the A595 and the 112103.

(Ref: AL21 -486 - carriageway surfacing - for approx. 2 weeks)

4. U2I38 Woodrow to Low Longthwaite, for its entire length, from its junction with the C2050 to its junction with the B5304. Alternative Route: via the C2050, the A595 and the B5304. (Ref: AL21 -487 - carriageway surfacing - for approx. 2 weeks)



5. C20I2 Aldoth to Abbeytown, from its junction with the B530I, extending in a north easterly direction for approx 1.26km.



Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C20I2, B5302, A596 and the B530I.

6. U2037 Tarns Dub, from its junction with the C20I3 to its junction with the B530I.



Alternative Route: via the C2013 and the B5301.

(Ref: AL2I-485 - pre surface dressing carriageway patching for

approx. 5 days)

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:

(i) Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and



(ii) Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and



(iii)Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and

(iv)Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or email

The Order will come into operation on 6 December 2021 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for the durations stated above from 6 December 2021 and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
