THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA [THE CROFTS, SILLOTH AND U2002 AND C2042 WHITRIGG TO PORT CARLISLE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2021
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria Highways to carry out highways works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:-
I. The Crofts, Silloth (all sections): From its junction with the
B5300 for its entirety. This Closure will be carried out over 4
phases, between the property numbers as follows: -
Phase 4: No.65 to No.86.
Alternative route: via the B5300 and B5302.
Duration: approx 5 weeks (Ref: AL22-00I)
2.U2002 and C2042 Whitrigg to Port Carlisle
U2002: From its junction with the C2042 extending in a south
westerly direction for approx. 4.7km; and
C2042: From its junction with the U2002 extending in a south
easterly direction for approx. 2km.
Alternative route: via the unrestricted section of die C2042, U200I andC2043.
Duration: approx 3 weeks (Ref: AL22-002)
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained
at all times.
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
2. Apply to anything done with die permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and
3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and

, quoting the references as above. The Order will come into operation on 4 Januaty 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note diat it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as specified above and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
