THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (U2963 NORWOOD DRIVE, U2404 VICARAGE LANE AND U2404 SIMONSCALES LANE, COCKERMOUTH) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2021
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Northern Gas Networks to carry out gas main replacement works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road in Cockermouth:
1. U2963 Norwood Drive, from its junction with Vicarage Lane, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 17 metres: Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Norwood Drive, Dale View, Riverdale Drive and Sim on scales Lane.
2. U2404 Vicarage Lane, from its junction with Simonscales Lane, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 22 metres. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Vicarage Lane, Che B5292, Rose Lane and Simonscales Lane.
3. U2040 Simonscales Lane, from its junction with Vicarage Lane, extending in south westerly direction for approx. 22 metres: Alternative Routes: via the unrestricted section of Simonscales Lane, Rose Lane, the B5292 and Vicarage Lane, OR via the unrestricted section of Simonscales Lane, Riverdale Drive, Dale View and Norwood Drive.
Away for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
(i) Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
(ii) Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and
(iii)Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and

However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for 9 days and only as and when Che relevant traffic signs are displayed.
