THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (VARIOUS ROADS IN THE CITY AND DISTRICT OF CARLISLE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO.2) ORDER 2021

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria Highways to carry out Patching Works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.

Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force. Phased works will not necessarily be done in numerical order.

Cumbria Highways will ensure that local residents and the general public are informed of which roads are to be closed and when, nearer the time. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:

1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and



2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and



3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and

The Order will come into operation on 7 June 2021 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required within the 3 month period from 7 June 2021 and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

1. Woodend Drive, Carlisle - Approx. duration 2 days (Ref: CACH399)



From its junction with the B5299 Dalston Road, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 185m. Alternative Route: via Levens Drive, Langrigg Road, Dunmail Drive and Dalston Road.

2. Levens Drive, Carlisle - Approx. duration 2 days (Ref: CACH400)



From its junction with Newlaithes Avenue, extending in a north easterly for approx.860m.

Alternative Route: via Newlaithes Avenue and Langrigg Road.

3. Brownrigg Drive, Carlisle - Approx. duration I day (Ref:CACH40l)



From its junction with Stonegarth, extending along its entire length.

There is no suitable alternative route available.

4. Stonegarth, Carlisle - Approx. duration 2 days (Ref: CACH402)



From its junction with A595 Wigton Road, extending in an overall southerly direction for approx. 665m. Alternative Route: via Westrigg Road and Wigton Road.

5. Norfolk Road, Denton Holme, Carlisle - Approx. duration 3 days (Ref: CACH403)



From its junction with Denton Street to its junction with St

James Road, a distance of approx 445m.

Alternative Route: via St James Road, Nelson Street and Denton

Street

6. Ul 161 Peter Lane, Carlisle - Approx. duration 5 days (Ref: CACH404)



From its junction with A595 Newby West Roundabout extending in an easterly direction for approx. 900m to its junction with the B5299 Dalston Road. Alternative Route: via the B5299 Dalston Road, Ul 133 Dalston, Ul 134 and A595.

7. CI017 Buckabank to Raughton, near Dalston, Carlisle - Approx. duration 12 days (Ref: CACH405)



From its junction with C1014 Buckabank, Dalston extending in a

south easterly direction for approx. 4.2km.

Alternative Route: via the C1014 (Durdar) and CI036 (Crown

Inn).

8. UII23 Grinsdale - Approx. duration 5 days (Ref: CACH406)



From its junction with C2042, extending in a north easterly

direction for approx. 1.2km.

There is no suitable alternative route available.
