THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (B5345 MAIN STREET, ST BEES)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION)) ORDER 2021

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable United Utilities to carry out utility works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the BS345 Main Street, St Bees from its {unction with the C4007 Outrigg Road, extending in a northerly direction for approx. 75m.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available as follows:

North Bound Vehicles: via the unrestricted section of the B534S Main Street, Egremont Road, Cop Lane, A595 Egremont Bypass, North Road, Springfield Road, A5094 Inkerman Terrace, Flatt Walks, Lowther Street, Scotch Street, Irish Street, B534S Preston Street, Low Road, St Bees Road and Whitehaven Road. South Bound Vehicles: via the unrestricted section of the B534S Main Street, Whitehaven Road, St Bees Road, Low Road, Preston Street, Swingpump Lane, A5094 Strand Street, Duke Street, Scotch Street, Flatt Walks, Inkerman Terrace, A59S Springfield Road, North Road, Egremont Bypass, B5345 Cop Lane and Egremont Road.

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:

1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and

2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and



3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the road, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the road; and

, quoting the reference C02I -98 The Order will come into operation on 18 May 2021 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 3 days and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
