(B6385 CROOKLANDS) (TURNPIKE CANAL BRIDGE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2021
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable the Canal and River Trust to carry out bridge repair works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists) from proceeding along that section of the B6385, Crooklands from its junction with the A65, extending in a westerly direction for a distance of approx. 55m. A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted section of the B6385 (Milnthorpe),B6384, B6384 Milnthorpe Road, C5009 North Road, A6070 and A65. There is no suitable alternative route available for pedestrian and dismounted cyclists, Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the road, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the road; and

2. Apply to personnel or vehicles being used in connection with the Works.

quoting the reference SL2I/0I. The Order will come into operation on 12 April 2021 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 12 days between 0800 hours and 1800 hours each day and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
