SCHOOL ENROLMENT WEEK 18-22 JANUARY 2021
Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) Enrolment
From August 2021, all three and four year olds in Scotland are entitled to up to 1140 hours of funded ELC each year; these hours are allocated on a pro-rata basis depending on when children start throughout the year. Hours will be provided at school nurseries, as well as some private and voluntary managed nurseries and playgroups and some childminders that have a contract to provide ELC for Scottish Borders Council.
Children born between 1 March 2017 and 28 February 2019 will be eligible for up to
1140 hours of free Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) from August 2021.

Primary School Enrolment
If your child is five years of age before the end of February 2022, they are eligible to attend primary school from August 2021 .Please visit

schoolenrolment (18 January to 22 January 2021) and upload a copy of your child's birth certificate and proof of your address. Secondary School Enrolment
If your child is moving from primary to secondary school in August 2021 you will receive details of the local catchment school from their current primary school. Placement requests
If you want to send your child to a school that is outwith your catchment area this is called a placement request. If you choose to make a placement request you must also make contact with your catchment school and complete an on-line enrolment form so that they can reserve a place for your child in the event that your placement request is refused. You should then contact your preferred school and complete an on-line placement request form. More information To find out more you can:
