THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (U4070 MILL STREET, BOOTLE, U4062 SWALLOWHURST, CORNEY, AND A595 WHITBECK, BECKSIDE AND HALLTHWAITES) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2020

THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (U4070 MILL STREET, BOOTLE, U4062 SWALLOWHURST, CORNEY, AND A595 WHITBECK, BECKSIDE AND HALLTHWAITES) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2020

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria Highways to carry out highways works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road:-

1. U4070 Mill Street, Bootle: From its {unction with the A595 extending in a north easterly direction for its entire length. There is no suitable alternative route available.

Approx. Duration I day (Ref: G110/20/C74)

2. U4062 Swallowhurst, Corney: From its junction with the A595 extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 24km. Alternative route: via the U4064 and A595.



Approx. Duration I day (Ref: G110/20/C75) 3.A595:-

(i) Beckside, Whicham Valley: From its junction with the U4007 extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 1.4km. Alternative route: via the unrestricted sections of the A595 and A5093 Millom



Approx. Duration - I day (Ref: G110/20/C79)

(ii) Whitbeclc From its junction with Whicham Valley extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 2.8km.



Approx. Duration - I day (Ref: G110/20/C78)

(iii) Hallthwaites: From a point approx.200m north east of its junction with the U4079 extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 2.2km.



Approx. Duration - I day (Ref: G110/20/C80)

A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be available via the

unrestricted sections of the A595 (Cleator Moor), AS086

(Cockermouth), A66 (Penrith), M6 (Crooklands), A590

(Greenodd) and A5092 (Grizebeck).

A suitable alternative route for vehicles that are restricted from

using the motorway will be available via the unrestricted sections

of the A595 (Broadoak), U4064 and U4065 (Corney Fell).

Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display

of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are

in force.

The above closures will not necessarily be done in numerical order.

The contractor will ensure that local residents and the general public are informed of which roads are to be closed and when, nearer the time.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:

1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and

2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and



3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and

The Order will come into operation on 29 June 2020 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for 2 months in total and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
