THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (RANDALL STREET AND LORNE STREET, DENTON HOLME, CARLISLE) [TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2019
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable United Utilities to carry out utility works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road;
1. Randall Street, Denton Holme, Carlisle from its junction with Lome Street to its junction with Sheffield Street;
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Randall Street, Charlotte Street, Lome Crescent and Lome Street. Duration: 9 September 2019 for approx. 2 months.
Duration: 9 September 2019 for approx. 2 months.
2. Lome Street, Denton Holme, Carlisle from its junction with Denton Street to its junction with Randall Street; Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Lome Street, Lome Crescent, Blencowe Street, Nelson Street and Denton Street.
Duration: 16 September 2019 for approx. 2 months.
To facilitate the alternative routes the existing one-way traffic restriction on Lome Street will be temporarily suspended for the duration of the works. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
a. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
b. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and
c. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the road; and

The Order will come into operation on 9 September 2019 and may continue in force for a period of up to eighteen months from that date as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, although it is anticipated that it will only be required as detailed above.
