THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (VARIOUS ROADS IN THE BOROUGH OFALLERDALE) (CONSOLIDATION AND PROVISION OF SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 20X

1. The Cumbria County Council hereby give notice that it proposes to make the above Order under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.



The Cumbria County Council hereby give notice that it proposes to make the above Order under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The effect of the proposed Order will be to: -



(a) Consolidate the provisions of The County of Cumbria (Various Roads in the Borough of Allerdale) (Consolidation and Provision of Speed Limits) Order (No. 2) 2017 and the following proposed restrictions into one concise Order;



(b) Reduce the extent of the 30 miles per hour speed restriction on the following lengths of road: -



(i) B5300 in Allonby; (ii) U2I64 in Flimby (so that new limit boundary ties in with the presence of street lighting); (iii) C2047 Curthwaite; and (iv) B5307 at Newton Ariosh.

(c) Extend the 30 mph speed restriction on the following lengths of road: -



(i) C20I0 in Blencogo; (ii) C2039 in Brigham; (iii) C200I in High Seaton (replacing some of the existing 40mph restriction);

(d) Introduce a 30 miles per speed limit on the following lengths of road: -



(i) C2033, C2034 and U2098 in Blindcrake; (ii) C203I, C2036 and U2333 in Dean; and (iii) C2013 in Mawbray;

(e) Introduce a 40 miles per hour speed limit on the following lengths of road: -



(i) C2007 Broughton Moor (replacing some of the existing 30 mph restriction); (ii) C2040 in Oulton (replacing some of the existing 30 mph restriction); (iii) C205I in Oulton; (iv) B5307 in Kirkbride (replacing some of the existing 30 mph restriction); (v) A59I and U7003 Thirlmere; (vi) C2047 Thursby; (vii) C2047 Thursby to Curthwaite Road (replacing some of the existing 30 mph restriction); and (viii) B5305 Lowmoor Road, Wigton. NB: The Council also intends to introduce a section of national speed limit in place of restricted road status on the C200I and C2037 at Broughton Moor - please refer to the plan marked Proposal No. 4 on deposit.

NB: The Council also intends to extend the section of restricted road status in place of national speed limit at B5305 Lowmoor Road, Wigton - please refer to the plan marked as Proposal No. 14 on deposit

3. Full details of the proposed Order, together with plans showing the lengths of road concerned, a statement of the Council's reasons for making the Order and a copy of the Order(s)to be consolidated and revoked, may be inspected at: ■ the offices of Allerdale Borough Council, Allerdale House, Workington;



(i) the offices Allerdale Borough Council, 50 Main Street, Keswick;



(ii) the offices of Wigton Town Council, Market Hall, Church Street, Wigton; and



(iii) the offices of the undersigned during normal working hours.
