THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (WARWICK ROAD, BROAD STREET AND ST AIDAN'S ROAD, CARLISLE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2019

THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (WARWICK ROAD, BROAD STREET AND ST AIDAN'S ROAD, CARLISLE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2019

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Amey to carry out utility works, the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to:-

1. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of Broad Street, Carlisle from its junction with Warwick Road, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 85m to its junction with River Street.



Alternative route for southwest bound vehicles via Warwick Road, Petteril Street and River Street or northeast bound vehicles via the unrestricted section of Broad Street, Lismore Street and Warwick Road. Reference: C357

2. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of St Aidan's Road, Carlisle from its junction with Warwick Road, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 85m to its junction with Victoria Place.



Alternative route for northeast bound vehicles via Warwick Road and Victoria Place or southwest bound via Victoria Place, Petteril Street and Warwick Road. Reference: C358

3. Prohibit any vehicle from travelling other than in an easterly direction along that section of Warwick Road, Carlisle from its junction with Lismore Place, extending in an easterly direction for approx. 300m to its junction with Victoria Place.



A suitable alternative route for westbound vehicles via Victoria Place and Lismore Place. Reference: C356

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:

1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and

2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and



3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and

The Order will come into operation on 24 June 2019 and may continue in force for a period of up to eighteen months from that date as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, although it is anticipated that it will only be required for 4 months.
