ALLASON Christopher Chris passed away aged 70 in the Cumberland infirmary on 5th October 2021, following several months of treatment for cancer. His wife Sheila and two sons Matthew and Daniel were by his side. He was a very proud father and grandfather, and was much loved by his wonderful family and friends, and by the many people whose lives he touched. A funeral service is to be held at Carlisle Crematorium on Friday 22nd October at 10:20am. Family flowers only, donations if desired, to Cancer Research UK. Farewell Chris - your Mam and Dad were massive influences in my youth - your Dad as the head teacher of Hayton School and your Mam as my Godmother.
And she always told me that I had you to thank for reminding her when my birthday was.
They were both special people in my life.
Over the years we have met dozens of times but always on the back terrace of the Paddock at Brunton Park - and like me it was a case of through thick and thin and you deserve a round of applause from the current set of players for that.
I am sorry I could not make it north for the funeral service today but I am sure the good people of Brampton and Cumbria turned out in big numbers to bid ye farewell.
So here is hoping for 3 points tomorrow in the big match against Oldham - if you can pull a few strings up there this would be a good game to do it in.

And of course condolences to the family Allason.
