WE asked our readers which shop they would want to open in Carlisle. From H&M to Costco, here's what they said.
Steph Millar said: "A supermarket back in the town centre," which Alison Gibson agreed with.
Ren Bell added: "Some form of supermarket, Tesco was so handy for us."
Niki Atkinson said she would like to see 'some alternative clothing shops and independent shops'.
Rachel O'Donovan said: "Flying Tiger, Typo, Molton Brown, a dedicated plus size clothing shop that sells things that aren't floral or only things people in their 60s and above would wear."
Ruth Reay commented: "BHS, it was brilliant for everything including breakfast."
Steven Coates mentioned IKEA, Uniqlo and Zara, while Eleanor Jean Tyler said: "Any of the ones we have lost due to closures would be a bonus."
Kathleen Barling said that 'a good food shop in the town centre' was needed, as Aoife Chapman added: "Bring back art supplies shops, like proper ones. A CASS ART would be great to have for our area. The Works, Hobbycraft and The Range don’t cut it."
Ally Marshall said: "We honestly don’t need any more coffee shops and food places, we need clothes shops."
Victoria Viney said: "Debenhams. Would love to have it back again."
Sharon Miles listed her desired shops, including Urban Outfitters, Zara, Victoria's Secret and John Lewis.
Nessa Bthe said she hopes Woolworths will 'make a comeback' to the high street in future.
