FOURTEEN more people died with coronavirus in Cumbria in the last two days.
Public Health England and NHS England announced the number of deaths within 28 days of the patient's first positive test result for Covid-19 newly reported on Saturday and Sunday.
Eleven new deaths were recorded on Saturday and three today (January 24).
The latest weekly figure for deaths in Cumbria where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate for the week ending January 8 was 53.
The 14 deaths can be broken down as follows:
Allerdale - 5
Barrow - 2
Carlisle - 3
Copeland - 2
Eden - 1
South Lakeland - 1
There were 202 new cases of coronavirus reported in Cumbria yesterday and 279 new cases on Saturday.
The latest weekly cases in each area for the week ending January 19, accompanied by the rate per 100,000, can be found below:
Allerdale - 379 (387.7 per 100,000)
Barrow - 298 (444.5 per 100,000)
Carlisle - 726 (668 per 100,000)
Copeland - 283 (415.1 per 100,000)
Eden - 177 (332.4 per 100,000)
South Lakeland - 281 (267.4 per 100,000)
The England average of cases per 100,000 is 437.8.
Yesterday there were 610 new deaths announced in patients with coronavirus.
