Talented young Workington Town full-back Tee Ritson admitted he was out to impress on Sunday when he bagged four tries on his return to action.

Ritson, who has been sidelined through injury since March, burst back on to the scene with a bang in the win over London Skolars.

And he said he couldn't have asked for a better comeback.

"I was pretty pleased with it to be honest," said Ritson. "I was hoping for the very least to get a win but it was a bonus to perform that well.

"It was a big lift to finally play on Sunday and I wanted to use it an an opportunity to impress everyone in my first game back.

"I used that as motivation towards my performance."

Ritson admitted his time on the sidelines had been frustrating after being tipped to make his mark in 2017.

He added: "It's been frustrating as I had high hopes for this year so it was really unfortunate to get injured when I did.

"But I have been working hard and training, trying to get back as fast as I could so I haven't dwelled on it and just worked hard."

And Ritson now hopes Town can kick on and cement their place in the League 1 top eight with wins in their last two games, starting this Sunday with the visit of Keighley.

"I want to use that game as a platform," he said. "Now we have to work hard as a team and focus on getting the win against Keighley this weekend to keep us in the top eight and we can go on from there.

"Hopefully we can then progress further and just take it week by week."

He added: "It is going to be like a cup final this weekend but we will review what we have to do this week and all the lads have to be up for it.

"But I don't think we will need any more motivation for this game.

"Keighley are a good outfit and they have had some good results this year but with the team we have and the players available I think we can get the win."
