Whitehaven returned home with the glory after winning the West Cumbrian derby clash with Workington Town.
Haven took the points and the plaudits from this hard-fought encounter, winning 24-20 despite a grandstand finish to proceedings.
The visitors were leading 16-0 at half time and it looked dire for Workington Town, who had made a number of unforced errors to hand Haven field position.
But it was a real game of two halves as Town came back in the second half and took the lead with 17 minutes remaining.
However, they couldn't hang on and another mistake allowed Haven to sneak in near the end and snatch the points.
Scott McAvoy, Carl Forster, Jessie Joe Parker and James Tilley all touched down for Haven with Paul Crook adding four goals.
Town replied with tries for Scott Rooke, Jason Mossop and a brace for Joe Hambley. Carl Forber, in his 300th career appearance, added two conversions.
