Young prop Joe Ryan is set to pack down at Workington Town for the remainder of the season.

The Warrington Wolves youngster has enjoyed his time at Derwent Park and impressed Workington coach Dave Clark.

And Town have now extended his loan through to the end of the season.

Ryan said he was delighted to stay and try and keep the side in the top eight come the mid season split.

"I am made up to be staying here for the rest of the year and pushing to get into the top eights," said Ryan.

"I didn't think twice when I got the opportunity to stay, mainly because of the lads here.

"I feel I've fitted well here at the club and that's down to the players, coaching staff and everyone involved being so good with me.

"Now I'm looking forward to doing my best for the club and finishing this year on a high."

Ryan had featured regularly for Warrington Reserves before joining Town on an initial month's loan in June and he is highly regarded by coach Lee Briers.

Ryan will be in contention to play in Sunday's crunch game with Keighley Cougars at Derwent Park, ko 3pm.

Town need to win to stay in contention for a place in the top eight, but Keighley have the same objective.
