Every season we offer you the chance to honour your favourite player from the 2016 Championship season. Below, Helen Thompson looks at five possible winners...

TEE RITSON: The youngster has emerged with a flourish this season. The winger looks very capable in defence and comes off his own line well. Has a good turn of pace that has baffled a few defences this term and capped off a fine season with an international call-up for Thailand.

JASON MOSSOP: Jason has just been awarded a testimonial season for 10 years with Workington Town and he is still one of the most consistent performers at the club. The strong-running centre has scored a number of tries this season but is also a formidable tackler and has also saved several.

JACK MURPHY: Jack has been a very safe pair of hands at full-back for Workington and is also good at coming away from his own line. Has made several telling breaks and also knows where the try line is.

JARROD SAMMUT: The wily half-back has won several games for Workington this season with his kicking game, adding several touchline conversions at crucial times. He has also created several try scoring opportunities for others as well as some fine individual efforts of his own, and is the club's top points scorer this season.

MARC SHACKLEY: Town's pack has been the mainstay of any success this season and nobody works harder for the cause than prop Shackley. His strong runs have kept the crowd going whilst also proving a rock in defence.
