Dewsbury Rams are heading to Workington on Sunday hoping to put their relegation fears to rest.

The Rams picked up a 36-24 victory over fellow Championship strugglers Swinton Lions.

And that win means they are seven points clear of Town and Whitehaven in the two relegation berths.

Coach Glenn Morrison is targeting another two points this Sunday at the Zebra Claims Stadium to give his side some breathing room.

He said: “If we can win this Sunday as well at Workington, we will be looking up, instead of over our shoulder.

“Relegation should be out of reach. We are one from one, so we can look forward to the next games.”

Morrison said Andy Kain suffered a sore shoulder and Rob Spicer carried an injury into the game, but the Rams came through with no major new fitness concerns.

But he did warn his players that they could not take their foot off the gas against Workington.

The Rams let in three late tries which gave the scoreline against the Lions a closer look.

And Morrison admitted that they could not afford to do that again and getting off to a good start was key.

Workington Town are running rugby league camps every Wednesday for boys and girls in years one to six at primary school.

The camps run from 9.30am to 3pm and cost £10. To book call Marnie on 07751 704073.
