Workington Town snatched a win at the death against Coventry Bears.

A drop-goal from Carl Forber in the dying minutes of the League 1 encounter ensured Town brought home the all-important league points with a 29-28 victory.

Town were in the driving seat in the early stages and were 22-0 ahead just before the break but then Coventry struck back with a couple of later tries and it was 22-10 at half time.

Joe Hambley added two more tries to his season's tally and Gordon Maudling also got over for a brace with Forber landing three conversions.

But Coventry picked up in the second half and put their visitors under an increasing amount of pressure.

A try from new boy Danny Rasool on debut, converted by Forber left Town 28-22 ahead but back came Coventry again to tie the game.

It all came down to the boot of captain Forber and he slotted over the one-pointer and Town's defence held out for the slender win to keep them in the top eight.
