Boss Lee Andrews has admitted Workington Reds have been left with a pleasant selection headache ahead of today's trip to Stafford Rangers.

Players are chomping at the bit to impress Andrews and joint boss Dave Hewson and the management duo now have some tough choices to make.

After a 3-1 home win over Warrington Town last Saturday, the duo swapped around the team for the visit of Cleator Moor Celtic on Tuesday.

A 5-1 win in the Cumberland Cup ensued with great performances from all the players, leaving the managers with plenty to choose from for this afternoon's trip to Stafford.

"The lads that came in on Tuesday did well but equally the lads on Saturday also did well," said Andrews.

"We asked them on Tuesday to stake a claim and they did but the lads last Saturday did the same.

"It is great to have competition for places. It gives us a bit of a headache but its a good one to have.

"The lads that came in on Tuesday are chomping at the bit to get games and it was a good opportunity to bring them in.

"It is nice to know that they are all ready when we need them."

Stafford beat Reds at Borough Park 2-1 earlier in the season and Andrews is hoping they can get their revenge today.

"They are a very physical team, we know that from when they came up here," he added.

"Sometimes we struggle against those type of teams, we want to get the ball down and play football.

"We need to stamp our authority on the game."

Anthony Wright will miss out after spraining his ankle in the midweek win but Rob Wilson is back in contention.

Stafford will welcome back top goalscorer Josh Gordon for the visit of Reds.

Gordon was only on the bench for last weekend's 0-0 draw at Coalville Town after having stitches in an eye wound following a draw at Halesowen Town.

He was due to have his stitches out in the middle of the week and Rangers were hoping he would be back in the starting line-up today.

Captain Mat Bailey should also be back in contention after recovering from a rib injury.
