Workington Reds joint manager Dave Hewson says his side must aim for nothing less than a win tomorrow when they travel to Sutton Coldfield Town.

Reds go into the match on the back of two straight defeats which came against Barwell last weekend and against Buxton on Tuesday.

The Sutton Coldfield game is the first half of a Bank Holiday double-header with last year’s promotion rivals Blyth Spartans coming to Borough Park on Monday.

Hewson said: “It’s important when we’re on the back of two defeats to look to get back to winning ways. If the Sutton Coldfield game goes ahead, the main thing is to go there and get the three points.

“It’s similar to every game and will be a tough, physical battle. On a surface like that, we’ll have to adapt to the conditions.

“We went there and got a result last year and there’s no reason why we can’t.”

Defenders Gari Rowntree, Anthony Wright and Sam Smith are all long-term absentees, but the management team hope to have Phil McLuckie back.

The team trained as normal last night.

During Tuesday’s defeat at Buxton, defender Jake Simpson missed a penalty with Reds 2-0 down.

Hewson explained that the management team would discuss their set piece takers, but stressed that they respect players who put themselves forward.

Fans will have the chance to meet Derek Townsley, Dave Hewson and Lee Andrews at a Meet The Management Team event tonight.

The trio will talk about the season so far and people will have the chance to ask questions.

The event starts at 7.30pm at Borough Park. Tickets cost £5 and can be bought by contacting 01946 841429 or 07912 859480.

The club bar will also be open. A raffle and a pie, peas and pint meal will also be on offer.
